Seondo Electric Co., Ltd. announced on the November 27th in 2024 that it has received the KEPCO President’s Award in recognition of its contributions to technological innovation and advancement in the smart metering sector. This award acknowledges the company's continuous technological development and active participation in national energy efficiency projects.
Smart Metering: A Key Technology Driving Energy Transition
Smart metering is a digital-based electronic metering system that measures energy consumption in real time and provides data to maximize energy efficiency. It is a core technology actively promoted by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to lead the era of energy transition.
Since 2010, KEPCO has successfully completed the national AMI project, supplying next-generation Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) to 20.05 million households by 2023. As part of this achievement, KEPCO recognized 103 contributors, including 100 companies and institutions and three individuals, for their outstanding contributions to the project.
The awards ceremony, hosted by KEPCO, was held on the 21st at the Royal Park Convention in Seoul. Over 700 industry professionals and representatives from related organizations attended, marking a successful conclusion to the event. Seondo Electric Co., Ltd. reaffirmed its position as a leading company in the smart metering sector through this prestigious recognition.
